Field tested the SRAM RED EXOGRAM Carbon CrankSet

First outing for the SRAM RED EXOGRAM Carbon CrankSet (c/w GXP OEM Ceramic Bearings) and our group decided to join BJCC on their ride from Bukit Jelutong to Ijok, a return trip of approximately 80Km. The crank performed flawlessly, never missing a single shift from the lower to the higher chain ring and vise versa. We manage to averaged at 30.7km/h and burned about 2,120 Calories for the distance of the ride details from the ride could be seen from Ijok Ride 16 February 2014

SRAM Red Exogram Crank

SRAM RED Exogram Crankset installed, Ceramic Bottom Bracket and SRAM Red hollow pin Chain replaced. One very contrasting difference compared to the 105 is the weight reduction. Bike feels definitely lighter. Have not field tested the entire setup though.

SRAM RED 10 speed Cassette installed

Installed the SRAM RED 10 Speed PowerDome onto the Zipp 404 hubs on my Cervelo P2. Initialy the installation is a bit tight and I was looking for some answers if a Spacer is required to be inserted in between the cassette and the Shimano 9/10 Freehub. Found a great site at slowtwitch.com that had a great chart for answer seekers such as myself. And the answer is... NO ...a spacer is not needed for a SRAM cassette on a Shimano 9/10 speed Freehub..

Here are some pictures of the beautiful and light RED PowerDome installed. Here are some specification from SRAM website on the RED PowerDome cassette.

The main cogset of the OG 1090 cassette is machined out of a single forged form that is heat treated and then shaped in a complex series of CNC-guided operations. Weight, stiffness, and strength-wise, the OG 1090 Cassette delivers titanium’s weight with solid steel’s superior strength and stiffness.
  • Lightweight: Innovative CNC‘d chromoly steel construction.
  • Durable: 35% harder than titanium!
  • Stiff: 15% stronger than its competitor.
  • OpenGlide technology allows for smoother transition between gears.

2009-2011 ZX6R Front Fender installed

Just installed a 2009 zx6r front fender to replace the 2005 fender I was using earlier to add a fresher look to the bike. A stainless steel bracket is used as the 2009 ZX6R fender mounting holes does not line up with the ZX10R 2005 fork fender mounting hole.
